The South Suburban Association Chiefs of Police is proud to introduce our 8 scholarship winners for 2021! Each recipient received a a $1,000 scholarship, paid directly to their college or university.
Seven of the scholarships were funded through raffle ticket sales, with the 8th scholarship donated by Terry Lamastus of COUNTRY Financial.
The recipients of the 2021 SSACOP Dependent Scholarships are pictured below. Congratulations to all of our winners!

Ashlyn Rapacz – Ashlyn will be attending Aurora University studying Criminal Justice with a desired career as a Police Officer. Her Father is Police Officer with Calumet City Police Department

Mairin Hunt – Mairin will be attending Illinois State University studying Special Education. Her desired career is being a Special Needs Educator. Her Father is a Police Officer with Oak Lawn Police Department.

Ethan Roberts – Ethan is a student at Loyola University studying Multimedia Journalism and Spanish with a desired career as a Spanish Teacher or Broadcast Journalist. His Father is Deputy Chief with the Lansing Police Department.

Benjamin Mannino – Ben will be attending University of South Florida studying Mechanical Engineering with a desired career as an Automotive Engineer. His Father is Chief of Park Forest Police Department.

Gwendellyn Docter will be attending Columbia College to study Theater and Deaf Studies. Her desired career is as a Playwright. Her Mother is a records clerk at Hazel Crest Police Department.

Samantha Docter will be attending University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a double major in Neuroscience and Psychology. Her desired career is as a Neuropsychologist. Her Mother is a records clerk at Hazel Crest Police Department.

Madeline Schmeckpeper – Madeline is a student at Eastern Illinois University studying Secondary Education Mathematics with a desired career as a High School Math Teacher. Her father is a Police Officer and her mother is a records clerk at Tinley Park Police Department.

Connor Hudziak – Connor is a student at Lake Forest College. He is studying Finance. His desired career is as a Financial Advisor. His Father is a Police Officer at Oak Lawn Police Department
